Stream, Floodplain, and Wetland Restoration at Mill Creek GC

Mahoning County

This project will restore an area of the “North Course” at Mill Creek Golf Club which currently exhibits poor environmental characteristics such as degraded wetlands, channelized streams, and a proliferation of invasive species. The proposed restoration efforts will include stream channel realignment, the establishment of a riparian buffer, new wetland creation, and the restoration of the nearby forested riparian buffer through invasive species management. The primary objectives of this project are to improve water quality, restore natural hydrologic function, and increase and improve native habitats.

Project Size: 4.92 acres

Partners: Mill Creek Metropolitan Park District
