Perfect Creek Treatment Wetland

Delaware County

The Perfect Creek Treatment Wetlands project will be constructed on the Sandel Property, which is an agricultural property that was acquired by Preservation Parks through a Phased approach. The wetland treatment train will be situated within the floodplain of Perfect Creek and Dry Run to receive, treat, and temporarily retain water from both streams during rain events. The project will construct approximately 6 acres of wetland treatment system along the north bank of Perfect Creek and on both sides of Dry Run. Nutrients present in both streams will filter through an initial settlement pond to remove sediments and begin the treatment process. Once complete, the project will provide improved water quality in the Ohio River Basin through nitrogen, phosphorous, and sediment reduction, stormwater retention, and improved ecological habitat.

Project Size: 475 acres
