Lake County
The Arcola Creek runs through much of Lake County’s farmland, making it a potential nutrient loading source for Lake Erie. This project will redirect water flow from two current drainage ditches through a relocated and restored stream, allowing constructed wetlands to filter nutrients from nearby farm fields. The two-stage channel system reconnects the stream to floodplain and provide wetland habitat with vegetation lining either side to help filter the water.
